I haven't posted in a while due to being busy working at the Bikeshop and getting ready for my move out west. I accepted a job at the Fort McMurray Today newspaper as a Staff Photographer and I will arrive in Fort McMurray on November 10th.

It should be a awesome trip and look forward to seeing some images that I produce from this Oil sands town

Spent the Weekend in beautiful Ottawa and Montreal for my Birthday/bicycle traders show. Both were very eventful and I actually had a awesome time minus getting a wee cold from the hotels air conditioning.

Here are some highlights of the trips, more photos will eventually appear on the popular website facebook which we have all come to love and hate at the same time.

The yellow shirts were a bet to see who could wear a yellow shirt the longest.

All I can say is building one fast is a lot of work, though I am really happy with how this one turned out, my inspiration on it was combining some gangster colors and some BMX in on it.

24 Hours at Ablion, Hot August Nights,

HOT , that was the word of the weekend, wow its hot.

This weekend I raced the 24 Hour race with some buddies. We packed up and left on Friday,
Saturday was race day and was it ever hot. I was elected to race first, but didn't actually finish my first lap, due to some mechanical problems. Basically due to heat, I must have had a momentarily loss of something which ended having my bike clip a sapling and me being thrown over the bars superman style.

Once I pulled myself together I realized that my wheel was taco'ed. Great, first lap out and I'm basically done. Lucky we had one of our teammates still at the bike shop so he was able to bring me a new front wheel.

After that it was clear sailing for the rest of the race, our team Masters of the Universe, finished 15th with 23 laps of 15km. The winning team did 30, which boggles my mind, and also means that they had a full 10 person team as we just had 6.

Well anyways to the photography.

I've always wanted to go windsurfing, so my buddy Chris along with his dad Andy took me out and gave me some lessons and turned out to be a awesome day, aside from some cut up feet.

Gershom and I traveled down to Toronto to watch a crit that was awesome. I wasn't fully focused on picture taking but I think I managed to get some nice frames, then we went to the bar and had some fun.

Recently the bike shop I work for Bikeland hosted a Demo day at our local trails , where the reps from Specialized, Kona, Norco and Opus all showed up to allow us to ride their bikes.

I rode one bike... and ordered it the next day. The price was awesome which was another plus.

All I can say is that this bike retails for $3800 and I didn't pay anything even near that. I also was given free race glasses , a jersey and a helmet.

I think bike buying is my addiction. My count is now at 5 bikes.

I've been lazy with this thing, well I have one shot to put up. From today I have alot still at the paper on one of the computers but I'm done the internship so I'll have to jump drive them to my computer when I get the chance.

Trail Raking and Examiner Day 14

Examiner Day 14 was spent on a ride along with Mark Wanzel. Mark is a photog at the Barrie examiner; we spent the day shooting assignments and features and he showed me some tricks. It was well worth it.

The bike rider is from one of my assignments which happens to be my friend Mitch Bailey- National Under 17 Champion.
After the day was over I went to the midhurst trails and did some trail maintenance with fellow Bikeland lifers Matt, Gersh, Jim and Mike. We moved trees , raked leaves and chilled. Some shots I thought were cool.

Started the day off with a body being found in the Lake this morning, I was disappointed as I got to it right as they were taking the tape down, due to the fact that I start at 11, though I did get to shoot another murder investigation where the OPP canine unit came into try to find more evidence.

Then shot a Business portrait, not sure what the story is about...
